Sophie Theresa Sokel Shields, 91, of Westhampton Beach, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Hampton Manor in Gaston, NC. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elsie Mazanik Sokel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Shields.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Shields Baust of Henrico; her sister Stella Ogiejko of Westhampton Beach, NY; her niece, Mariann Platt; and her nephews, Joseph and Michael Ogiejko.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 31 Ebony Road, Ebony, VA 23845 with Father Anthony Mpungu officiating.
